about us

We are particularly proud of the new look and feel of the hotel.
The original designs give us the perfect balance between a contemporary feel and the restored original Georgian features of the hotel, using a simple and neutral colour palette.

Our different bedroom designs have been devised across a vibrant colour spectrum, whilst the communal areas play on the corporate colours of our smart new logo, designed for us by award-winning designers ashleycarter.

location

Within London, The Harlingford is centrally located in an area known as Bloomsbury, an ideal choice for getting the best out of London. Its elegant squares offer a retreat from the urban rush and yet the energy of the city is all around you.

The Harlingford is within easy walking distance of three tube stations: Russell Square, Euston and King's Cross / St. Pancras International (now the final destination of the Eurostar trains from Brussels, Paris and Lille).

For getting around there are also buses in every direction, whilst Oxford Street and most major tourist attractions are within a 15-30 minute walk. But you may just want to explore Bloomsbury itself.

history

History is all around you in Bloomsbury, an area made famous in the early 20th century by the avant-garde artistic circle known as the 'Bloomsbury Group'.

And the hotel buildings themselves have a fascinating past. Originally built as three separate dwellings by master architect and builder James Burton in 1807. They have variously been owned by a Member of Parliament, a retired lieutenant-colonel, a theological tutor and the famous publisher Andrew Chatto - founder of Chatto & Windus.
